Raymond on our way to DC
Marine Corps Band performing during Marathon Expo.
Snow the day before the race!
The Starting Line and the weather was perfect!  33 at start/high at 45.
Beautiful Trees even though it was late October.
Deer grazing in between the snow.
The red leaves are really on branches and not falling!
So peaceful!

Back Home after a wonderful trip.

10 days away was a blast.  5 days in DC for the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon.   I ended up finishing 16.5 out of the 26.2 miles - I'm sure I almost killed my knees due to compensating due to the bunion.   I may have to try the new shoes that fit your feet like a glove...vs having a shoe bend on top of the hurt area.   Really would like to get my foot better and finish 1 marathon, then I'll stick to shorter races -- but definitely going to keep on walking.   Just feels good.   My husband, Raymond finished the race - his 1st ever marathon in 4:34:52 and our daughter did a personal record with 4:11:?.   Susan had some knee issues but she was able to finish.

Raymond and I enjoyed DC and the drive back to Jax.  Went through some of the Smokey Mountains - saw Snow, lots of Deer grazing on the grass along the road, beautiful leaves.   Since being home, I've turned my sights on getting The Etsy Shop open and posted the first Note Card today.   More cards to come.   Hope to have them posted in next two days.

How is your Fall going?   Hard to believe Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks from now.  What kinds of special foods do you cook once a year?   Would love to hear your traditions.

2011 Marine Corps Marathon, Washington, DC

Raymond and I are off to DC today to participate in our first marathon.  Susan and Daughter Vanessa are flying in Friday.  I'm sure we will have a great long weekend up there.  Race Day weather is predicted to be perfect.   Praying that holds!   I'll be posting along the way, and possibly will post some NEW Note Cards.    ETSY Shop is almost open.  I decided to wait til we return from this road trip/marathon/Blue Ridge Parkway driving to see a few colorful leaves before I officially open.     Have any of you made the trek to NC or VA or the NE to see leaves this fall?
Take care my friends!

Before and After! Perfect afternoon - So far 5" in rain and heavy winds from this tropical system.    P.S. We ended up with 8.5" of rain and up to 70mph winds.   Mini Hurricane, I guess.   LOL

We are in the middle of a "tropical system" and last night it sounded like a hurricane.  Heavy Winds and so far we've received 3.5" of rain.   But, I think it's great.   I have no errands that I HAVE TO venture out for and I can watch lots of College Football today and NFL tomorrow, while I finish up the Wedding Place Cards.    It's been a busy, fun week.   I got almost 3 dozen Note Cards off to shop in Matagorda, TX.

It's really hard to tell from this picture -- I must learn how to show the colors better, but this is a light greenish blue!   I'm naming it "Glacier Ice" on the Etsy Store (when it opens).

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
